Mashhad to Host Int’l Conference on Imam Musa Sadr

Entitled “Imam Musa Sadr, A man of Wisdom and Morality”, the conference will be held by Imam Musa Sadr Cultural Research Institute on February 27 to discuss the ideas and thoughts of the great Shia scholar and leader.
Imam Musa’s son Hamid Sadr, Sheikh Mustafa Mals, Father Antoine Zue, and Hassan Qabalan will travel to Iran from Lebanon to attend the event. Ayatollah Vaez-Zadeh Khorasani and a number of the lecturers of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad will also address the conference.
“Resistance in Imam Musa Sadr’s Thought and Deed,”, “Dialogue between Islam and Christianity from Imam Musa Sadr’s Point of View,” and “Culture of Dialogue and Interaction with Opponents from Imam Musa Sadr’s Point of View” are among the topics of discussion at the conference.
Born in 1929 in Qom, Iran, Imam Musa Sadr left Iran for Lebanon in 1960 and became an influential Shia leader there.
In August 1978, Imam Musa Sadr and two of his companions departed for Libya but after meeting with officials from Qaddafi's government were never heard from again.
